5 Element Theory

5element wheel.jpg
  • The Chinese Medicine 5 Element Wheel represents the cycle of life from birth to death, the cycle of each day and of the year (including the seasons). We have each Element in us in different percentages, with one or 2 potentially more dominant.

  • We can be out of balance with any of the Elements, depending on season/ time of year, our lifestyle, emotional health, foods we eat, etc.

  • The arrows on the wheel represent 2 cycles- generating & controlling which self regulate the Elements to create balance in nature & in the human body.

  • The generating cycle (outer circle) will help to increase/ build the following Element- for example the Wood Element generates the Fire Element.

  • The controlling cycle (inner star) helps to release any excess of that particular Element- for example the Water Element controls the Fire Element.

  • You can take a quiz here to find your dominant Element.
